Switch: from Bubble
Migrate from Bubble without the rebuild
Moving off Bubble means rebuilding the app elsewhere. We handle that: screens, workflows, and records, all running on Orbit on your own domain.
Free, and we take one app at a time.
Why a rebuild
You already know this part
Bubble apps stay on Bubble. That is not a criticism. It is what Bubble's manual says about app ownership.
"There's no way of exporting your application as code."
Bubble manual, application and data ownershipYou have to rebuild either way. The real question is who does the work, and how long you need to pay for both tools.
What comes across
Your records travel, the rest gets rebuilt
Bubble lets you export data, but the app itself stays inside Bubble. That means we move them in different ways.
Data
Records
We bring records over from CSV or the Bubble Data API, then store them in Postgres on Orbit.
Rebuilt
Screens
We rebuild each page in Orbit based on the app people already use.
Rebuilt
Workflows
Button rules and automations become Orbit workflows you can see, test, and change.
Rebuilt
Sign-in
Accounts and roles become Orbit sign-in on your own domain.
How it goes
Walk us through it once
01
Show us the app
Screen-share the pages your team lives in, and send the CSV export of your data.
02
We rebuild it
We build your data model, screens, and workflows on Orbit, and come back with questions as they surface.
03
You switch over
Run both for as long as you want, then point your domain at Orbit and stop paying Bubble.
Before you decide
Judge us by the standard you are applying to Bubble
If you are leaving Bubble because you want the code, read this first. There is no source-code download in the product; Orbit runs the app for you, and the app, data, and domain stay under your control through a REST API. If you need the code or a repository for a client, ask and we set it up by hand. No one has moved a Bubble app this way yet, so you would be first, and I would rather you knew that now.
Questions, answered
Can my Bubble app be converted automatically?
No, and not by anyone. Bubble does not let an app out as code, so every move off it is a rebuild. We do that rebuild by reading your app, and your records come across from a CSV export or the Data API.
What do you need from me?
A walk through the app, enough access to see how it behaves, and a data export. We work from the app itself, because there is no file that describes it.
What happens to my data?
Bubble exports your records as CSV and serves them through its Data API. Those become an Orbit data model on Postgres.
Do I keep my Bubble app while this happens?
Yes. Your app stays up and untouched, and you decide when to stop paying for it.
Is Orbit another lock-in?
Judge it on the same terms. Orbit has no source-code download in the product either; your app, its data, and your domain are yours and reachable through a REST API. If you need the code or a repository for a client, ask and we set it up by hand.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The migration is free while we take one app at a time.
Someone has to rebuild it. It does not have to be you
Show us the app you use today, and we'll explain what it would take to move it.
Free, and we take one app at a time.
